We are no more,

As we lay on mats,

Black garb we adorn, with doeks to complete the look.

A look around, it's just you and I,

We are no more.

Baba died, mwana followed,

Mbuya, Sekuru went way before us.

Now mama has followed,

It's only you and I now,

And you are too young.

One look at you,

Swollen pink-red eyes,

I can't tell you,

That I too have it and it has eaten me up.

They say I am at stage four now,

It was already too late.

How could I have known then?

We are no more.

I cannot help you now,

To make it better for when I leave,

For I am too weak,

I can only hope you manage to figure it out on your own,

I can only pray,

And hope that you don't lose hope.

We are no more!

I am no more!
